My name is Max, and I am a PhD student with STOR-i CDT at Lancaster University. I do research in the field of statistical ecology.

I completed my undergraduate masters degree in Mathematics in 2022 from the University of York. Whilst there I took interest in both pure mathematics and statistics. I still enjoy group theory and associated ideas in my spare time, though I now focus on statistics. I joined STOR-i CDT in October 2022, completing an MRes in Statistics and Operational Research in 2023 and now doing a PhD in the field of Statistical Ecology.

I am also a big fan of coding, with experience in R, Python, C++, MatLab and more. My GitHub page is lmaxhowell.
