Universities and Their Third Mission: Community Engagement and Social Impact in Times of Crisis

The presentation will explore the evolving role of universities in fulfilling their third mission through active collaboration with communities, public institutions, and civil society. Particular attention will be given to how higher education institutions can identify community needs, support local development, and contribute to social resilience, especially in times of crisis and recovery. The talk will include practical examples of university–community cooperation, service-learning initiatives, and interdisciplinary projects aimed at strengthening sustainable regional development.
Tetiana Kuvaieva
Tetiana Kuvaieva is the Head of the Marketing Department at Dnipro University of Technology (Ukraine). She holds a Ph.D. in Economics and has over 10 years of experience in higher education teaching and marketing. Her academic interests include digital marketing communications, consumer behaviour, marketing research, and university - community engagement. Tetiana is actively involved in international academic cooperation and has participated in projects supported by Erasmus+, DAAD, UNDP, and the British Council, focusing on educational innovation, sustainability, and community development.
