University Scholarships and Bursaries
These relate to all levels of study -- BA, MA and PhD, and to achievement and/or need.
Bailrigg Awards
Thanks to a generous endowment from the family of a former student,* the Department is able to offer some support (up to £150 per award) to students, both BA and MA, who are suffering financial hardship. A student can apply once or twice a year; and, if merited, can receive one award per year.
The David Craig Memorial Scholarship
Thanks to another generous endowment, this award provides £500 upon starting an MA in Creative Writing.
Department Prizes
Each year we award 14 named student prizes at BA level (years 1-3) and 5 prizes at MA level.*
