Professor Brooke Simmons

Professor Brooke Simmons is an Astrophysicist at Lancaster. She completed her PhD at Yale University, where she studied the growth and co-evolution of galaxies and their central supermassive black holes over 11 billion years of cosmic time. After her PhD, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Oxford, where she was awarded a Junior Research Fellowship at Worcester College and then the Henry Skynner JRF at Balliol College. She was then awarded an Einstein Fellowship by NASA, hosted at UC San Diego. Professor Simmons joined Lancaster Physics in 2018.
