Dr Murad Banaji
Senior Lecturer in Mathematics and AIResearch Overview
Much of my research focusses on the behaviour of dynamical systems with network structure, which arise naturally in chemistry and biology. Techniques from algebra, geometry, and combinatorics can be used alongside traditional approaches from dynamical systems and bifurcation theory to understand how network structure influences the allowed dynamics of such systems. A particularly exciting application is "chemical reaction network theory", the abstract study of dynamical systems (deterministic or stochastic) arising from reaction networks.
PhD Supervision Interests
I am interested in supervising PhD projects in dynamical systems and bifurcation theory applied to problems in biology and chemistry.
