Training

Training opportunities for staff and students across different sustainability topics

Students talking in a lecture

The university offers a range of training, teaching, events and advice for staff to help navigate the complex topic of sustainability, and to encourage any action, however small, to make a positive difference.

Positive Change Week

Positive Change Week was a week-long celebration of sustainability and social responsibility on campus and online. Staff and students were invited to join in with online learning and in-person events to learn more about sustainability and social change.

Elevenses

Elevenses is a series of development events across the academic year, where a range of professional services teams showcase their work with colleagues from across the University. This year, we have provided two 1-hour events for all staff on an introduction to sustainability and scope 3 emissions.

Procurement training

All staff are offered the chance to join procurement training sessions each year, which focus on sustainable procurement and how to select suppliers who have been chosen for their sustainability performance.

Staff resources

We have created some sustainability resources aimed at helping staff easily access information about sustainability at Lancaster. The aim is to make it easy for all staff, especially when starting, to understand the University’s approach to sustainability, and how they can contribute.
